Airod Turbopower is a joint venture company established to provide support for Rolls Royce T56/501 engines fitted to Lockheed C130 / L 100 aircraft. Incorporated in November 1995 between Airod,Airod Zetro and WG Turbopower (WG Turbopower is an American Company based in Miami,Florida). Airod, www.airod.com.my the major shareholder is a premier aircraft, engine and components maintenance center. Being the Lockheed Authorised Service Center for C130, Airod Turbopower engine overhaul and repair capability complements Airod’s airframe and avionics capability; thus, creating one-stop service center for C130 aircraft. WG Turbopower (Wood Group: www.woodgroupturbopower.com),wholly owned by Wood Group Ltd has been in the T56/501 business since 1974 and was certified by Rolls Royce as an Authorised Maintenance Center (AMC) in 1995. Operational in July 1997, Airod Turbopower was certified by the Rolls Royce as an Authorised Maintenance Center (AMC) in July 1998. Strategically located at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah International Airport, the capabilities is fully supported by state of the art engine test and accessories test facilities. Parts refurbishment facilities includes welding, flame spray, advanced Machining and Electroplating. Highly skilled personnel and excellent parts support ensure the high quality services. In addition to the AMC certification, Airod Turbopower was recognised by the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) as a Maintenance Authorised Contractor (MAC) in October 1998. The approval paved the way for 3-year with the Government of Malaysia to support the RMAF 14 aircraft fleet in September 1999.The contract has been further renewed until 2005 recently. In addition to RMAF, Airod Turbopower has secured a few international contracts such as Republic of Yemen Air force, Royal Thai Air force, Indonesian Air force and Sri Lanka Air force. The experiences and stringent quality system was further rewarded with the certification of ISO9001:2000 quality management system. |
