AseaCyte Sdn Bhd was established in 2010 through a UK-Malaysia joint initiative between Cancer Research Initiatives Foundation (CARIF) in Malaysia, AvantiCell Science Ltd in UK and Sime Malaysia Region Berhad in Malaysia. In the same year, the Company was awarded BioNexus status by the Malaysian Biotechnogy Corporation, an agency under the purview of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation of Malaysia.

AseaCyte’s founding principle is based on the know-how of natural product chemistry under license from CARIF and cell-based technology under license from AvantiCell Science. The technology assets provided by the founding investors are the foundations for the Company’s aim of becoming a leading supplier of products and services based on cell biology and natural product chemistry for a variety of research and development applications including drug discovery, natural therapeutics, agri-bio R&D, environmental screening, bioactivity and biosafety testing and other customised applications.
